1. About "Ratio of Applicants to Places": means applicants per place. However, in the case of "Returnee students selection" and "International students selection", we used "Applicants/Successful Applicants Ratio", as the number of places was uncertain.
2. Kyushu University: includes “First Selection”, “Second Selection”, “Integrated Selection”, "Selection Based on School Recommendation", “Entrance Examination for Returnee Students”, “Entrance Examination for International Students (April, October, and Japanese Government Scholarship Students, etc.)”, "International Admission (School of Education)" and re-examine.
3. National universities: figure for number of places available and applicants relates to the general entrance examination process.

4. About selections:
   

   • “Integrated selection”: renamed from “A.O. selection” in 2021
     
   • “Selection by school recommendation": renamed from “selection based on recommendation" in 2021. It is an option under School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation, School of Dentistry, and School of Design
   • "International Admission": only conducted by School of Education
   • "International students selection (April)": includes privately funded international students, Japanese government scholarship international students and government sending international students

5. About our schools:

   • School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation: established in April 2018. "Ratio of Applicants for Places" in “Returnee students selection” is calculated as the number of applicants divided by the places available from 2022. It was calculated from the number of applicants versus the number of successful applicants until 2021, as the number of places available was uncertain
   • School of Letters: "A.O. selection" is commenced from 2018
   • School of Education: "Returnee students selection" and "International students selection" have not been held since 2019. “International admission” is commenced from 2019
   • School of Law: “Integrated selection” (“A.O. selection”) is commenced from 2015
   • School of Economics: “Integrated selection” is commenced from 2021
   • School of Medicine: "Second selection" has not been held since 2014
   • School of Dentistry : "Second selection" has not been held since 2018. "Selection by school recommendation" is commenced from 2022
   • School of Pharmaceutical Sciences: "Second selection" is commenced from 2013. “Integrated selection” (“A.O. selection”) has not been held since 2013
   • School of Engineering: “Integrated selection” is commenced from 2021
   • School of Design: "Selection by school recommendation" is commenced from 2021
   • School of Agriculture: “Returnee students selection” has not been held since 2018
   • The 21st Century Program: closed to new admission from 2018
